I need a device that caps on USB2.0(preferred) that has audio/video connectore on it, and will let me cap in raw AVI, not DV in Adobe Premiere 6.5. Hopefully as many inputs as possible, even dig audio would be great. Need it fast for work. Anyone got any ideas to steer me in the right direction!

Well, all the machines have it. Since its faster then firewire(and none of the machines have firewire) I figured it would be easiest. Any ideas? I guess I could get a firewire card...

I was thinking more of an TV tuner/capture card solution. I don't like DV myself. :) But if you want a single device for use with several machines, I understand why you want a USB solution. You could capture on one machine, and the serve it to the rest via a gigabit network. Assuming the machines all all local.

I just picked up, hoping to use it with my laptop. I haven't had much of a chance to use it yet,so I can't really comment one way or the other. It looks pretty good though.

It wont cap in raw AVI, or at min, raw DV.
Thats the prob...

What about using it to run through Premier's capture to get your raw avi?

Problem with that is that some devices not only cap in small resolutions to accomadate the low bandwidth uf USB1.1, but some also even hardware compress. Totally destroying the quality...

The best A/D converters are from Canopus, check their web site because I'm not sure if they have USB support.
