Hello everybody, It has been talking about ripping strached dvd on this board before, but i didn't find the answer to what I want.
The thing is that I'ge got a dvd that is scractched, when I play it on both WinDVD and PowerDVD they hang-up at the same point, but if I seek to 30s after the trouble point, The dvd play up to the end.
Of course impossible to rip the vob where there is the scratch (tryied with DVDdecrypter 2.4 & 3, SmartRipper, vobrattor and Vstrip).
I just want to know if I can rip the file without the 30s where there is the scratch.
Thank's (and forget my english)

If the drive can recover from an attempt at reading a bad sector, DVD Decrypter WILL be able to rip it just fine.

If decrypter won't rip it due to damage (set the read retry count to a high one) then try polishing it. This has worked on a number of occasions for me sometimes with decryter taking 20 times to read the bad part of the disc.

I use a special polishing cloth and two solutions that repair and polish the disc.

Is there a way that DVD Decrypter can alert me if scratches are found? I've disabled Fast Error Skip and enabled Detect Mastering Errors.

It reports how many times it tried to read a part of the disc that was damaged and it stops if it can't read it at all.
