Cant open xvid with VirtualDub

I want to open xvid vith virtualdub, bur get a erroe message...:

message : Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'xvid' (unknown)....

i want to join some xvid files, and maby split the audio and video....

making a dvd of some xvid's ....

anyone who can helpe me out here ???? plz...:angry:

Looks like you only have a dshow filter installed for xvid (ffdshow perchance?). You need the vfw codec to worck with xvid vids in vdub.
