playstation 2 dvd question

i made a dvd in spruce up and if i play it on my computer or xbox it plays fine, but if i play it on ps2 it plays choppy. is this just because the ps2 has a slow dvd drive?

What version PS2 are you using?

i think its a version 5 or 6, they are model# 30001-R if im not mistaken.
