Strange problem here with audio/video sync problem and I really need some help. I've searched the forum but nothing this bad was mentioned.

After the SVCD creation and burning a CD, my video seems to be totally black for the first 4:50 while the audio continues playing and its not even from the beginning. Both the audio and the video are not even close to being in sync with the original DVD. The DVD doesn't start off with a black screen at all! Maybe this is a ripping problem?

Its like this in both my DVD players (computer and TV)

So in essence, they are both TOTALLY off.

I've never had this type of problem before.

I have a P4 1.6 GHZ. with 256 RAM running WinXP.

I didn't change any settings on DVD2SVCD with the exception for the movie offset seconds below:

Movie offset seconds : 0
Checked: CD Overlap seconds: 2

if you would have read the guides, you would have known that using 0 seconds for the movie offset is very likely to cause these problems. more than likely this is the problem.

try again with it set back to the default of 2 and i bet ya it works.

What did you use to rip the DVD?

I found the problem!

Strangely enough, I was just curious and checked the "Movie Length" tab...there was 2 more selections about 4 minutes off from what was originally there.

Very strange because this DVD is only an 1 hour American show, and that's it! Plus I only check that Movie Length tab when there are chapters on the DVD (you know...a DVD that has 4 shows that are 45 min. each.) So, I tried using the other time length and BINGO! It came out PERFECT!

Sorry to bother everyone about this.
