I haven't been able to get there in the last few days. Is it because of the DOS attacks?

Unfortunally yes, i truly wish they would stop doing that. :(
It's a waste of their and our bandwith, and whatever they are trying to acomplish it isn't working.

Could it be an industry attack ?

possibly :sly:

I doubt it. An industry attack usually consists of a long line of pencil-necked litigators... When they hear "DOS" they're wondering why you haven't upgraded to Windows 3.1 like they have.

Being a network engineer myself, I'm kind of curious as to why your ISP or webhosting provider hasn't been able to stop them if you have reported it to them. I have never heard of one going on for this long.

Are you sure it's an attack? It seems more likely to me that the server is simply overloaded due to the popularity of the program.

That's my guess too. Cut off the access. This kind of thing is the reason they have ACLs on routers and firewalls...

trust me, i have the logs to proof it's a synflood attack and i am a network engineer myself too so i do know what i'am talking about.
It's a bit hard to stop an attack if you're not sure who's conducting it. (we have our suspicions, and i'am building up more and more evidence as we speak!)
So far they used random hosts to attack te servers, and everytime it's a different set op ip's. But there's a patron in that set of ip's so the loop is tighting closer and closer.

It's going to be interesting who that leads back to. Maybe ded.swbell.net (64.219.58.xxx)? (321studios)

If the studios wants to use illegal methods to prevent potential copyright violations they should attack peer to peer sites.
Attacking DVD2one is like putting out your cigaret while your house is on fire...
I guess its more likely to come from other software companies or a bunch of idiot kiddies.

321Studios makes DVDXCopy, they are not film makers.

Well all th same if you want any help or advice please feel free to email me. Also contacting the FBI if you haven't already isn't a bad idea. People getting calls from them usually scares them pretty quick :-).

Isn't he in the Netherlands? I doubt the FBI gives a flip.

Indeed DVD2one is a Dutch product, so calling the FBI won't do us any good.
We have a cybercrime unit here in the netherlands but i seriously doubt that they can handle it.
They are more in the line of researching child pornography and such.
But as i told you the plot thickens, and i think that i'am getting closer and closer to them everyday.

I keep forgetting that not every person that can type out proper englsih isn't in america :-). Very bad habit. Well I hope you get all the evidence you need soon.

<<proper englsih>> (sic), remember who's been speaking the language the longest! ;-) Does England have any bearing on that? Great book, by an American, "Mother Tongue" by Bill Bryson.
Best regards, John.
English, and proud of it!

Maybe you could rent webspaces on a big US provider. If they get attacked, they will handle it themselves and escalade the problem to the proper US authorities if needed.
The downside is its going to increase your cost. And I dont know how much commercial webspace is costing.

that reminds me of the time I was in a store and some guys in fatigues were talking about going over to join the war in afghanistan and one of them said "they asked me if i speak any other languages at the recruiter station" and I said" what for? i speak American and that's all i need to speak". hahah...i was really shocked...these guys really think "American" is a language?

Well if you're an American living in a country that speaks the Queen's English for any amount of time, you will realize that American English would come close to a foreign language.
When I suggested that we provided "fanny packs" as a trinket for our employees, my staff almost had a heart attack! The proper term is "bum bag."
You see, in America everyone has a fanny and sits on it. In England, only the fairer sex has a fanny and it would be difficult to sit upon...it's tempting to go on, but I'll leave it at that!!
