I have been using Nandub for sometime and find it excellent, but unfortunatly (unless I am mistaken and don't know) it only works with divx 3.1 and v2 :( I am despreatly looking for a similar tool that works with xvid.

I do not do any DVD rips! What I need is to encode My AVI files.
So I want to find a software that loads avi file and like nandub sets the output file to a desierd size etc.

I thank you in advance for any help.

xvid's internal 2 pass encoding should solve all your problems. No need to use an external app.

I admit that I am drunk at the moment but still..somehow your post irritates me..

What other forum did you see me posting this? So please do not guess specialy when drunk!

This forum is about Xvid and my question is about Xvid! Now I am sorry if a stupid newbie is wasting the time of experts! I tought that those who call themselves expert would be more tolerent then ignorents like me and would not mind helping others. After all helping others is what I tought such forums are all about!

You say:"somehow your post irritates me" ! well somehow your answer irritates me too. But you have an excuse! your drunk if I trust your words! Still happy I am just on the net and not somewhere near you!
as I guess you would want to break my neck for asking a question!

But don't worry m8. We are both as bad as eachother after all.
we both irritated eachother and both made guesses.

Thanx Tommy Carrot. I will try to find more info on this.
The problem is that I have downloaded many xvid guids, bust most of them talk about converting dvd to xvid.
The only guide I found about AVI to Xvid started by:
"Start up VirtualDub, press Control-O to load the avs file "

Non explain how to get that avs file and what to do to get there!
I am sorry, maybe after all this posting dose not belong here!

But I have been despreatly searching for long hours and was hoping to find an easy way (something like Nandub) or some help on how to do this here.

If you have an AVI source, then you don't need to make an AVS file. The only reason everyone makes avs files is so because it can be opened by VirtualDub when mpeg-2 files can't. The Xvid guide on this site should suit you just fine. You just don't have to deal with dvd2avi, GordianKnot, or AviSynth. went you see avs think avi.

Btw ... the Xvid guide takes you through the 2-pass encoding options.

Try virtualdubmod. I think you'll find it does what you want.

http://virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net/

You should be able to open your avi directly, set your xvid compression stuff and then just let it run without needing an avs.

Good ol' plain virtualdub is enough for what Birdy wants. ;)

A big thanx to all who replyed and help me.
I downloaded the guides and tried my first 2 pass encoding as explained. Facing still many problems, but yet at least it was a good start.
