I am interested in installing the ffdshow filter and am wondering if that would mess up my gordian know codec and application installations. Thanks

PS In case you are wondering why i would even want to do this, as a collateral issue which doesn't really belong in this section of the forum, I have read elsewhere on the forum that ffdshow filter will allow playback of xvid formatted movies that have bad frames (avi defreezer does not work with xvid)

If you want to keep the clip as it is and watch it anyways, use the ffdshow filter instead of the XVID Dshow Filter. Ffdshow just doesn't care for bad frames and keeps on playing.

ffdshow is a playback filter that is used only when you playback files. Gordian Knot will not be affected in any way by ffdshow. Thus, you still need DivX3.11/5.02 installed in order to use Gordian Knot.
