Hey Arnold!: The Movie [Region 1] (Disabling Aspect Ratio Selection Menu )

For those who have children that love watching the Hey Arnold! Cartoon TV series.
2/5/2003 UPDATE: Widescreen steps 7 and 8 have been added to disable titleset 3's Aspect ratio selection menu.
This is a guide on just getting rid of this movie’s aspect ratio selection menu. There are still other stuff left for you,on your own, to disable and strip out to get the your movie to fit. For example, unwanted audios. I’ve provided edits for either widescreen or fullscreen.
I’ve cut down my cheat sheets to just doing more difficult DVDs like ones with aspect ratio selection menus or menus that are very complicated.
Tool I used:
SmartRipper 2.41
IFOedit 0.95
VTS_02_* is our Fullscreen movie
VTS_03_* is our Widescreen movie
WIDESCREEN ONLY

1. Rip all files except VTS_02_1 to VTS_02_4.VOBs.

2. Region Free all IFOs and save if RCE is detected.

3. In VTS_02_0.IFO/VMG Overview/Menu Language Unit, delete playback on the following.
Menu 7: [entry only] (Programs: 1) (Cells: 1) (uses VOB-IDs: 5)
Tranlsation: Disable Aspect Ratio Selection Menu after Play button is pressed

4. In VTS_02_0.IFO/PGCITI_UT/VTS_PGC_8/PGC Command Table, insert a post command by right clicking post command #1. Edit as follows. To edit new Post commands, double-lieft clicking on line and enter new hex value.
OLD > 1.Post Command NOP [00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ]
OLD > 2.Post Command If GPreg<7> > (cmp-val)<0><' then Goto line# 8 [00 d1 00 07 00 00 00 08 ]
NEW > 1.Post Command Set GPreg<6> mov (set-val)<2> [71 00 00 06 00 02 00 00 ]
NEW > 2.Post Command If GPreg<7> > (cmp-val)<0><' then Goto line# 9 [00 d1 00 07 00 00 00 09 ]
Translation: Movie plays widescreen when aspect ratio selection menu is disabled.

5. In VTS_02_0.IFO/VMG Overview/Menu Language Unit section, highlight the follow line and press “Delete Playback” button.

Translation: Aspect ratio selection menu is disabled

6. Save VTS_02_0.IFO
