View Full Version : Using DVD2AVI to join VOB's from multiple PGC's

Anyone else tried this? It appears to work ok.
I wanted to backup a DVD containing 3 PGC's (3 episodes of a tv show). But to do that I needed to re-encode the whole thing.
so I used dvddecryptor to rip each PGC one at a time in IFO mode.
then I used DVD2AVI to open each VOB file one after another, and then saved the project file.

The audio appears to be in sync and everything works!

I'm really amazed with DVD2AVI, its one of the most useful apps I've ever used.

yes, I've done it before; it works very well. On one occasion I had 6 extra frames, but it was easy enough to remove them with AviSynth Trim.

great to know, I was just wondering "will it work ?", searched and found :)

such posts may look useless at first, but I realise they aren't ;)

thx !!!

Whether or not it works will depend on the audio delays. If they are 0, then it will probably work. If they're not 0, then no, this won't work.

A better solution that will account for audio delay is to use VobEdit, and its "Join Clip" function. This will let you append the VOBs (as long as they are renamed to be in sequence) and take care of audio delays for you.
