I've been playing around with DVD2SVCD (various versions upto 1.1.1 build 2) and have noticed the following repeatable subtitle bug. It's easiest to explain with an example. Let's say we have a DVD with 4 chapters, 1-4.
If I rip and encode chapters 1,3,4 with permanent subtitles
only chp 1 will have permanent subtitles in the final mpeg
However if i rip and encode consecutive chapters like 2,3,4
all of them will have permanent subtitles in the final mpeg.
Again say i rip ch 2,4 only chp 2 will have permanent subtitles. I checked the subs direcotry and all the subs are there (including ch 4). It seems that the ch4 subs are not integrated into the mpeg.
so to sum up, if we have a hole in the chapters, like 1,3,4 (hole = 2) then everything after the hole does not get encoded with perm subtitles. (I haven't tried non-permanent subtitles). I've repeated this a few times on a few different 40 chapter dvds. I'm using CCE 2.50 and output SVCD format.
