Please help me with this...
I have finished encoding a Divx video using Divx 5.02 PRO and GKnot .27 and the final video is a divx that crashes WMP 6.4 AND WMP Classic but plays back ok with DivxPlayer 2.0 Alpha (!).
When i put this avi into VirtualDub 1.4.12 and scan it for bad frames i get the msg :
0 frames masked (0 frames bad,0 frames good but undecodable)
Whats that supposed to mean ?!?
How can i fix it ?!?
Thanx for your replys...

PS.The second episode on the same DVD,ripped with the same Smartripper and using the EXACT same settings in GKnot .27 came out just fine...

Sounds strange. The message after you run 'Check video streams for errors' only means VD found no undecodable frames (eg freeze frames). What you could try is simply direct stream copy your file with vdub, perhaps this is enough to get rid of the problem.

I did just that and still the same happens...
I cant even think abt what could be causing this...
Any more ideas ?!?

hm. Sounds to me atm like a codec bug. Next try: Cut out the first keyframe range and see what happens.

I just did that (How did it never crossed my mind ?!?) and guess what ?!? The a/v synch was destroyed...
Never mind,I just finished encoding it as an sVCD and it came out just fine...We ll never know what was wrong with the DivX AVI after all...
Thanx for your replys though...

BTW,that VirtualDubMOD is the best news in many many months and now i m using it instead of the "official" VDub ! Great MOD !!!

Well, I think something was strange with the first frame or frames that made the driectshow filter choke but was ok for the vfw filter. Are you using ffdshow? Perhaps you should keep the file (or at least the first frames) and tell the author, might be a help in debugging.

Hmmm,i have no patience to fiddle around with this file no more so i ended up deleting it...
(Weird, but DVD2sVCD managed to turn the original VOBs into a fine sVCD MPEG-2 file with no problems at all...but i already said that :p)
Anyway,thanks for your help...
