I can no longer open avs files.

Does anyone know what could cause virtual dub not to open avs files?

I unfortunately tampered with the register according to the advice on http://www.avisynth.org/index.php?page=Convert. I also installed Virtual Dubmod and after these two actions I no longer can open avs files. I get a message:
"Avisynth open failure: Avisynth: script open failed!"

If anyone can help I would be thankful.

Are there any .avs files in your plugin dir?

have you tried a simple uninstall/reinstall of AviSynth? are all your plugins/settings valid inside the avs you're trying to open?

Thank you good people. Removing the .avs file i had in the plugin directory fixed my problem.
