I am using the pioneer A05, with Nero 5.5.9.9, to burn just the main movie onto pioneer media. So far the dvds seem okay but they won't play on my dvd player, which is a LG dvd player. can anyone tell me what the problem is, whether it's the software, the media or maybe just the dvd player won't play burnt dvd's. any suggestions are appreciated.

dav,
If you'd like us to help, we're going to need a little more details than what you've provided. Some suggested items might be:
- How you created the files (Smartripper/DVDDecrypter)?
- Did you use IfoEdit to strip anything?
- Did you create an image before burning or just burning the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders?
- Have you tried a simple DVD5 (less than 4.3gb DVD) burn, using something like DVDDecrypter (create an ISO out of the original, burn the ISO). Does that work?
We've found that giving as much details about the process you use to create and burn the files, the better we can help in figuring out the problem.

First off go and look here www.vcdhelp.com and see if your player is compatible
Also what are you using to burn the discs?

Do not use nero.I burnt my first dvd great played on computer ok played on my mates cyberhome dvd, mine no.I found this info.
It is NOT recommended to use Nero. Tests have revealed that Nero does not make 100% compliant DVD-video disks, and numerous DVD players will not play disks made with Nero. We have had good results with RecordNow by Veritas and PrimoDVD by Prassi.
i thought it was media incompatibility.so i burnt the dvd again using recordnow max and hey presto worked a treat.
