I load up the video_ts or main movie ifo and press dvd play, then I get an error that says "cannot get the ivideowindow interface. Sorry, can't play dvd-video titles".

I've used ifoedit plenty of times, then I reformatted my hard drive, now it won't play dvd files. what do i need to make this feature work?

Preceding the error message I posted above, I get a message that says "2 out of 3 dvd streams failed to render properly" then it lists video stream and subpicture stream and asks me if I want to continue. I tried playing dvd files that I have played before with ifoedit, before I reformatted my hard drive, and they used to play fine without any error messages.

A long, long time ago (before my computer was taken away to the Packard Bell labs for repair...), I remember having encountered this. What fixed it was installing WinDVD. I forgot what exactly it brings to the party, but it must be somewhere on another thread.

Hope this helps.

I installed windvd and it still wouldn't play. So, I went back to the forums, searched again, and found a thread in which one person said he just left the error message open (without hitting yes or no) and went back to ifoedit and pressed dvdplay again and it worked. I tried this and it played fine. I can't imagine what could be the cause of this problem, but this seems to be a solution. thanks for the reply
