i've done about a dozen searches tonight but only get bits and pieces of info on how to do this. i've got each pgc recompressed and have small files from doitfast4u etc. when i create a playlist the first file goes in fine, but for the 2nd, the video goes on fine as well but it asks if i want to replace the audio 'track already contains an asset,do you want to replace it?'
what am i missing? am i supposed to put each audio file on different tracks of what?

Yes you need to put each audio on it's own track. Place it at each corresponding video start. Something like this:
| first video || second video || third video |
| first audio |
**********| second audio |
**********************| third audio |
You get the point.
Hope this helps.

thank you :D i've been going nuts trying to get this working. right now i am trying to get it working with single cell mode with ifo update.
suggestion:
someone write a guide for those of us doing this with maestro not scenarist. from the number of questions i saw in my searches, there's a few of us. :)

I think u r wrong bear. if u place each audio in a different track, wouldn't u have problem playing the correct track on playback? Never tried that since I am an oldfashioned guy liking it simple and doing all by hand, except ifoupdate ofcourse.
However in Maestro as requested u could do the following
1. DVD2AVI the whole stream and don?t break it apart with df4u.
2. From ifoupdate 0.62 onwards u can save the adjusted cell Maestro chapter list as well as the CCE chapter one.
3. CCE it as many time as u like using the chapter list u saved in step 2 as I frames pointers. Here is a xcell sheet that would help u determine the max size u need. U'll get it when approved. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44750
3. Add it on Maestro Timeline with its audio.
However if u have to add several small videos together u can do so and right click upon the audio timeline, select create sync audio and combine the relevant audios toghether.
4. After adding the video add, at its end, a black bmp and stretch it about 15 frames to compensate the loss of the 5 last frames DVD2AVI misses from a video.
6. Insert the chapter list to Maestro.
7. Compile.
8. Use ifoupdate 0.62 onwards to recreate the original structure.

if the audio files are different channel format/bitrate then there is no choice, however you can use Stream Preselection from each menu button to select the right track, or use playlists for each of the three with forced tracks.

Have done this with a 8 pgc title with no problems. You can also highlight each video assest and then export the seperate video assests into one .m2v and then create sync audio track.

Since u r creating a sync audio track doesn't this mean that u r combining every audio in the timeline to a continous one? Doesn't semm to u a reduduncy to have a combined audio with the separated ones in the same project?
After all the ifo is using the combined audio for playback.

For those that didn't understand, you take the exported video and the sync audio track and create a new project with them thus not needing the seperate video and audio.

oddyseus, your advice on not breaking the stream apart worked great. i've dont it for the extras in 5 of my bond movies so far and it's worked every time. easier than doing them all seperately.
