View Full Version : Question: Interleaving a Gordian Knot created MP3 with an AVI manually with Nandub

Hello :)

My question is this ...

If you create an MP3 file using Gordian Knot and manually mux it into an AVI then do you need to set the delay value or not. I am under the impression that the creation of the MP3 takes the delay into account so for example if the AC-3 was -66ms then the MP3 is already adjusted and therefore you don't need to enter -66ms in Nandub for the delay value. Is that correct? I have the most current version of the Gordian Knot package (version 0.27) which of course uses BeSweet.

Thanks in advance :)

P.S.
I have been doing DivX Pro 5.0.3 encodings manually in Virtualdub since Gordian Knot does not yet support that version of DivX but I am still using Gordian Knot to create the MP3 from the AC-3 since it has a nice simple interface with less options that the BeSweet GUI but in the past I used Gordian Knot for everything (letting it mux the MP3) and now that I am doing it manually I just need to know if I should enter the delay value or anything else when it comes to interleaving with regard to muxing audio manually with Nandub.

NOTE
I edited this slightly because my terminology was incorrect (I was saying interleaving value when I really meant to say was the delay value) and I also tried to make it slightly more coherent :)

not trying to be an a-hole here but this is a simple question surely someone knows the correct answer.

Would greatly appreciate a response.

Thank you :)

yes you do. all GKnot does is send the commands to NanDub (you should use VirtualDubMod for this, it's a much better version of VDub and that way you only need one copy of VDub on your machine). so all the boxes in GKnot correlate to the ones in NanDub for audio interleave/delay. set them up the same.
