Since the post of XviD Analyzer 0.20 is outdated, I remind you that I'm looking for a french translator for the GUI. For more info read this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=253284#post253284).
BTW, what do you think about the GUI? Any suggestions?

I like it.Seems to work for now
Thx to both of u

Yep, that GUI is pretty fine for lazy guys - like me. Thanks.
------------------
And once more, I begin to dream of ... that:
(If I only were a programmer)
A GUI that analyzes stats- and/or dbgview logfiles, resp. any output generated by xda,
and displays a diagram with:
- the 1st-pass and 2nd-pass bitrate curves as line diagrams
- the used quants as vertical bars
- in the middle a marker line. The encoded video's frame at the marker line is displayed simultaneously (à la graphedit, e.g.).
The whole thingy has a scrollbar, and play/pause/stop - buttons. Ideally, the diagram is scaleable.
Would be quite useable to analyze what's really happening within curve compression, and also for the mad people ;) that sometimes re-encode on a scene basis to improve single degraded parts.
Okay, the diagram thing could basically also be done in Excel or something (but not so elegant), but the "monitor" window with the video ...
Anyone?

this name "XviD Analyzer 0.21"
is constantly fooling me to believe that this is somethign along
the lines of divxDRF analyzer,but apparently it's not..
(as this only analyzes stats file.....right?)
so,are there any plans to make xvid. avi analyzer that would give
info from .avi itself about quantizers used etc.?
(as this is not really "xvid analyzer" if it analyzes stats only,is it?it's "xvid stats analyzer"....)
NiTroGen

It is not only a stats file analyzer, but also an analyzer of the DebugView's output while encoding with XviD. So, there is information about quantizers used, compressibility, etc. I think that makes it an "XviD Analyzer". It can also make a "mini" analysis of the stats file, but it's main purpose it to analyze DebugView's log file. If you would like a more complete stats file analyzer, try StatsViewer (search the forum for it), written by me ;)

how about more complete xvid . avi file analyzer?
hehe,just kidding.......
ok thanks for explanations.....
and good luck with ffvfw project....

The analysis of the log file is fast and accurate. Unless you want to analyze every AVI you have, but I think that this is pointless, since you need the analysis during the encoding, for achieving the optimal result.

divx DRFanalyzer is pretty fast.....
i need to analyze xvid same as i do need to analyze divx...and analyze other people's stuff too...
(when i see blocking or problems it's neat to see what caused it,ie. what quantizer for that particular frame etc.)
let's see if xvidqp-beta1.zip can do it...
don't wish you luck?
well,hosting is a part of project.....
but ok then,i don't wish luck to you...
(hehe)
nice link ,majerle.......

EDIT: Now xdaGUI can also "speak" french, thanks to Lefungus.

Here is a far from perfect french translation for your GUI nitrogen. I got problems with my computer now and i haven't managed to get your gui running so the translation of advertisement may be wrong. Could you tell me what it does ?
Frame1.Caption = "Analyse du Fichier de Stats Xvid"
Frame2.Caption = "Analyse du Journal Debugview"
Frame3.Caption = "Résultats de l'Analyse"
Frame4.Caption = "Calcul des Quantizers des B-Frames (nécessite XviD Analyseur ver. 0.20+ )"
Frame5.Caption = "Publicité:"
Check1.Caption = "Calcul des Quantizers des B-Frames"
Command1.Caption = "Parcourir"
Command2.Caption = "Analyser"
Command3.Caption = "Choix Auto. des Réglages..."
Command4.Caption = "Analyser"
Command6.Caption = "Parcourir"
Command7.Caption = "Choix Auto. des Réglages..."
Label6.Caption = " Utilise " + XDAPath
Label11.Caption = "Pour une meilleure analyse du fichier Stats, vous pouvez essayer"
AboutCommand.Caption = "A propos"
LanguageMenu.Caption = "Selectionner Language"
SetPathCommand.Caption = "Choisir le chemin de Xvid Analyseur"
ExitCommand.Caption = "Quitter"

Anyway, merci beaucoup pour la interprétation. I've updated the GUI again. Check the attachment of my previous post.
I hope your computer problems will be solved soon.:D

Hi,
today I had an encoding that maxed out the codec - average Quant 2.000 :rolleyes:
When analyzing with the XVID Analyzer I encountered the following problem (using v0.21 with the GUI):
When analyzing without the B-Frame Option everything is OK, the usual B-Frames warning appears in the analyze.txt .
When enabling the B-Frames option I get:
B-Frames Quantizers
--------------------
Movie
------
Average B-Frames Quantizer Used for Movie : -1.#IO
Settings for Koepi's Feb. 17th build have been:
h263, 6-ultra high, Chroma Optimization, VHQ1, Chroma Motion, 2 B-Frames 100/150
Could this behaviour have been triggered by "only Quant 2 B-Frames"? :confused:
Not that it really matters, just wanted to bring this to attention. ;)
Cheers
MoonWalker
22nd February 2003, 02:31
Hmm...This output is when there are no b-frames in the logfile..Are you sure that you used b-frames?? Can you post 5-6 lines of the logfile??
Thanks,
MoonWalker
Franko30
23rd February 2003, 20:00
Yes they are there - but they all are Quant 2 - as I already described.
Cheers

Hm..Can you e-mail me the log (RAR-ed maximum) at s_ilias@gmx.net... I want to see if there is a bug...
MoonWalker
P.S Actually the b-frames quants are 4.5 if you apply the Quant Formula :) The b-frames quantizers that are in the log are false as syskin said...;)

I also have a small problem with xda 0.21. Whenever I analyse a log file using the -bf switch it crashes. I think it might be an overflow problem from looking at the frame numbers in the analyse.txt (see below). It does not happen if I use the same log file but without the -bf switch. (log captured with debugview for second pass). Using some log files the end percentages in analyse.txt are not present or have non-numeric characters in them.
Using Xvid 17/2 Koepi
Settings - Motion search 6, H263, KF 1-132, BF 3/100/150,linear CC
- I Qaunts 2-4, P Quants 2-8, Credits 12
- VHQ 4, Chroma opt and Chroma ME, SSE2 disabled
- No Qpel/GMC
Running on - P4 1.6GHz, GA-8IRXP, 512MB RAM
command line:- xda -s fire.log -bf 100 150
Logs available if needed.
Thanks
Andy
PS what are the 3 S-frames. I thought they were only present if GMC was used??

Sorry I forgot that: I don't keep the logfiles. Sorry for that.
But I tried to reproduce it several times with other logfiles (but those movies didn't max out the codec) and they came out alright.
It might be, that it just was a one time thing...
