View Full Version : dvd2one yes! Nero 5 sort of? Missing something-freeze frame on dvd player

WARNING....If you're turned off by newbies, move on...

I'm slowly making progress toward the goal of evaluating dvd2one. I've ripped correctly with DVDdycrypter. I've run the trial ver of dvd2one, and it produces the requisite 30' of video, which looks great on powerdvd, and I've successfully burned the VIDEO_TS folder with Nero 5 using my Tosh SD-R5002-RW at UDF 1.02, BUT when I stick it in my Sony NS-300 stand alone I get the same thing...3 different "freeze frames" from the Hunt for Red October.....jumping one to another...then nothing. The "Play" icon on the Sony jumps from play to pause while it jumps to each different scene.

I've taken the dvd2one VIDEO_TS ifo and run it through ifoedit, selected get VTS vectors, as well as region free, saved it, burned it and same result.

I am so close, I can feel it!?!

This may be better suited to a different forum, but dvd2one is probably my only hope with W98.

The sony is suppose to be dvd-rw compatible.

I've tried instantdisc VOB, gearpro 6.03, and tried recordmax 3.0, but it just froze on the disc cleaning option.

As always, any help from wiser minds would be appreciated....WF

Ok, I had the exact problem, and if you read my post i found the solution. Beleive me you need to buy the full version of the software and it will work with Nero Express.

Thanks for your post...what type of medium are you using?...I've only tried memorex-RW, but plan on getting some TDK-r (and a couple of others) tonight....You really think it's vital to use the full blown version of dvd2one?

I'll probably purchase tonight and hopefully all will come together...thanks to all for their patience!

Ok, all i did was use the full version of DVD2ONE and it solved my problem. I was doing the exact same thing as you. Ok first load DvdDecrypter and Decrypt the movie in File mode. Then load up DVD2ONE (full version) and go through the steps.(The steps are posted on the DVD2ONE Web-Site)After it's done load up Nero and switch to Nero Express. Click on the DVD button and select the files in the new VIDEO_TS folder that DVD2ONE created. I reccomend that you burn at 1x speed and don't use DVD-RW's. Try using DVD-R's and try different brand names. For some reason I am able to use the cheap no name one's and they work fine for me. But like I said try different brand names and you will find the one good for you.!!!
Hope this helps, if not let me know.

All I can say is AAAUGGHHH
I went ahead and burned my dvd2one trial using a DVD-R and no luck...still getting the freeze frame....my last resort is to purchase the full version (when they recover from their attack) and try again.

Glad you're getting success! Which media did you end up using?

Thanks for the response....I'll try it.

Anyone know how long before they recover from the attack?

This money is burning a hole in my pocket....can't wait to try the full version and see if I can make things come together.

For those who have purchased the full version...I'm wondering about the update I've heard about....

When I purchase, I'll receive a registration seriel number to plug into my current trial version and voila, it unlocks itself and becomes a full version...if that is so, do I have version 1.0 with no bug fixes that I've heard about? (right now I'd settle for any version)

Or, does it make sense to delete the trial version completely, and then make the purchase, thereby getting the "latest and greatest" version of dvd2one?

Am I being anal-retentive to the max or what....? :(

Thanks again...WF

After the DVD 2 one creates the files. Open IFOEDIT 0.91 and select
VOB extras for the VTS_01_0.IFO select the opitions strip streams,
strip vob ID, correct vob unit, and correct ifo tables.
When asked select all ID's and ALL streams . Then Let's rock'n roll.
Burn in any media compatible with Sony players (I have the NS 400)
the jerking problem is solved.

Rule 6 violation, removed

Sparkplug...Thanks, I tried this and it worked great! The trial version is now readable on my sony ns 300. I downloaded the full version last nite, and hopefully won't have to use ifoedit...but, it's nice to know it's there if necessary.

Hi,

I just want to tell my experience with DVD-Rīs/-RWīs not running on standalone DVD-Players.I burn with Nero 5.5.9.14,do not use 5.5.100,it has some bugs! I choose DVD-Video in Nero, deselect Joliet, drag the files created by DVD2one into the VIDEO_TS folder and burn.DVDīs created that way run on most Players.
I have seen many postings that Nero is not 100% "DVD-compliant".I have tried to burn with Nero with special settings that should be more compliant: UDF only,UDF 1.02,no ISO,no Joliet on a DVD-RW.
My standalone says Bad Disk or No Disk with this method.I didnīt try this with DVD-Rīs because it didnīt work with the RW.

I want to remind people that we have a forum dedicated to burning problems.

But, Ahead (Nero) has released 2 ne versions in rapid order. I don't know what the fixes are (couldn't find a changelog anywhere, as usual) but the latest is 5.5.10.7b
Download from http://www.nero.com/en/download.htm
