Hi,

i know the mpeg multichannel subject is dicussed many, many times in this forum, but i was wondering if someone was able to get mpeg multichannel audio from the pioneer DV-444 (in combination with the VSX-C300 receiver).

I've tried it with DVD2SVCD and Hypercube's transcoder, and it didn't work. I've looked in Hypercube's database and saw the DV-444 two times in the list; one that said it isn't mpeg multichannel compliant and one that said IT IS.

So, there's some hope left...

Can it be done (and if yes; HOW?) ?

Don't try to hard. IMO it's not that great anyway. It is Not Dolby Digital. I just stick with regular surround and I have a fairly large surround setup.

my pioneer 343 was listed also but i couldn't get it to work either..i agree with mark. don't try to hard as it probably isn't worth it. stick with pro logic II. this will save audio bitrate and let the video look better anyway.
