Helo, I am using DVDDecrypter latest version, and when I am trying to rip this DVD I get an error screen (at about 69%) saying this:

I/O error:

Device: (my DVD drive here)

ASPI SRB Status: 0x04
Interpretation: SRB Completed With Error

Host Adapter Status: 0x00
Interpretation: Host Adapter Did Not Detect An Error

Target Status: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 28 00 00 1E AC 40 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read(10) - Sector 2010176

Sense Area: F0 00 03 00 1E AC 40 0A 00 00 00 00 11 05
Interpretation: L-EC Uncorrectable Error

and then it asks: Abort Retry Ignore...

I can't understand why this error since the DVD title is brand new and it's without a single scratch on its surface.

You cant always see the errors as physical damage on the disc.

Just try hitting 'Retry' a few more times.

If the errors continue, have the disc replaced.

try updating your Aspi - current good one -- 1.71 - I think

I doubt this is an ASPI issue. The program is able to communicate with the drive just fine. Its the hardware erroring out, not the software.

I have updated my aspi to this version as soon as it has been released.

LIGHTNING UK!,

I get a similar error when ripping Monsters Inc. It gives me the following

I/O Error
SciStatus:0x02
Interpreatation: Check Condition

CDB: 28 00 xxxxxxxx
Interpreation: Read (10)- Sector 273974

Do you think its a scratched copy of the disk as well. I can't rip the movie using DVDecrypter or Smartripper.

Any suggestions?

Its actually what the sensearea bit says that is important (and you didnt tell me that!). However, yes, I expect its just a scratched disc.

Thanks for your help. I swapped the original DVD with another one and it worked perfect. Much obliged. Thanks
