First 10 or so DVD's I backed up DVD X Copy would rip a single disk in like 20 minutes. I'm using a 16x pioneer drive to rip. Suddenly, it is taking 1 hour...etc. I didn't change anything. All at once, it just started ripping real slow. I can't get the IDE channel to run in DMA mode either. Both drives are stuck in PIO.

I'm using a DRU500a and running windows xp sp1.

What can I do??? Anybody have this happen to them???

Both drives are set to DMA when available. How can I get them to switch over to DMA??

It's a bug in XP that some people have.
Try a search I believe it's been covered before.

Does DVD X Copy still have that opening on your copied DVD movies
" This is a DVD Copy " ????

This is the reason I still use DVD Decrypter, IFOEdit and Nero to copy all my DVD movies.

I'm not familiar with nero and other software to burn my dvd's..I'd like to learn. Can you give me an explaination of the software you sited??? I've used nero for audio and data burning....but i didn't know you could use it to copy dvd's.

And yes, XCopy still has that disclaimer!!!
