A new version of Nero is out and many people appear to be advising the use of the DVD-Video burn mode now

Can someone please explain the difference between using UDF, UDF/ISO and DVD-Video mode please. I have always been advised to use UDF/ISO with Nero - are there playback quality or compatibility issues between the three modes? Should I move to using DVD-Video?

Thanks

i would be quite interested to know this too. besides what are the most compatible settings for set top players in the UDF mode? (UDF version 1.02, 2.0 etc, check xbox compatibility, virtual or phisical partition...), im currently using nero 5.5.10.28, so please refer to that if you can. pointing to a guide or a specific thread is ok (i tryed to find some but didnt manage)
besides i heared that the topmost set top player compatible burning program is Record Now Max 4.5, used in UDF mode (found under data burning), but im not sure on which between the 2 UDF modes i have to choose...
like before, pointing to a guide or a specific thread is ok.
one last thing, besides the video_ts bup and ifo files and the vts_01_0 bup and ifo files are there any other files that really NEED to be in the VIDEO_TS folder? (like for example video_ts.vob)
thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Difference between UDF and UDF/ISO:

Standalone players are able to read data in UDF mode. But computers need to use ISO. So that is why UDF/IFO is recommended -> to obtain best compatibility for standalones and computers.

Difference between DVD-VIDEO and UDF/ISO mode in Nero is version of UDF. In DVD-VIDEO mode was used version 1.05 but oficial standard for standalones is 1.02. This is the reason for problem with compatibility of DVDs burned with Nero. Some old players were unable to read newer version (1.05) UDF. From some version of Nero (5.5.10.x I guess) Ahead downgrade to version 1.02 in DVD-VIDEO format.

I burned all my backups with ImgTool from CouJo and never had compatibility problem.
