Hi all,

i´ve got here a source which is very bad. Theere are many of those blocks....

Which filter is good for against de-blocking and cleaning??

You could try blockbuster from sansgrip and also pixiedust from steady. You could try both together or not, test it before encoding.

I`ve forgotten to say that the Filter must be YV12 compatible.
But I think blockbuster is YV12, isn´t it??

Yes, blockbuster is yv12 compatible. As for the attachment, there is at the posting dialog an option of attach file and browse next to it. :)

Blockbuster will not get rid of the blocks in the source. It is meant to prevent DCT blocks at encoding from appearing, because of a too high quantization. If the blocks are already here, he can do nothing ( except perhaps in its blur mode, which is still experimental, and it would be a side effect ). Moreover, using it with pixiedust is kind of weird, since one is meant to reduce noise, while the other can add some ( depending of the methode used ).

Like scmccarty said, MPEG2DEC3 have a nice deblocking option, it will be hard to do much more, but I've never tried asharp / pixiedust and others, perhaps they are good at it. Spatial filters should be more efficient.

Thank you for the corrections of the blockbuster suggestion. About mpeg2dec3, I must confess I still haven't experimented. Anyway try many different settings and filters and see what does best for you.

I´ve downloaded the blockbuster0.7.zip, which includes 2 dll´s. One for 2.5 and one for 2.0x. I loaded the blockbuster_2.5.dll in my avs-script and then I recieve a message that blockbuster_2.5.dll is no Avisynth2.5 plugin? :confused:

I am sorry but I can't help you. Maybe Sansgrip or someone can show up with some information. I still haven't move for avisynth 2.5 beta (Ok, I admit, I'm a chicken or is it a rabbit... :)) Good luck

edit: you should try, like it is suggested here, to use the deblocking process inbuilt the mpeg2dec3 from marcfd. Of course it doesn't mean you shouldn't use some other filters to get a possible better result.

@Ruppl : Blockbuster isn't yet compiled for avisynth 2.5 beta, it will only work with the alpha. SansGrip never said he added the AvisynthPluginInit2() in his filter ( read this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42871&highlight=blockbuster) ), and since I tried on my computer and it did work, I can only assume it is not yes done.

Now, I took a look at your image. Does all your movie look like this or do you choose the worst looking ? With just seing this one, I would say you have to blur strongly the movie, but I don't know which filters can do that. Perhaps you could try Deen ( in the m2d mode ), from MarcFD, and UnFilter ( with negative settings ), from trbarry. But of course, the rest of your movie, if the source is a little cleaner, will look blurry.

2. Your right! I´ve cutted out this ugly image, and not all my movie look like the image. But sometimes there are those blocks.

Tried with C3d(preset=vhsbq) and asharp(1,1,1,true) and the result is good!:D But i should clean the movie, there is no detail...first I´ll blur the video....
