Scenarist Subtitle import problem

I’m having problem backing up a DVD when importing subtitles into Scenarist. When I try I get the following error:-
Error The start time should be smaller than end_time. [01:56:38:15 - 01:56:38:15]

If I open up the subs.sst file I can see the error message is correct as sub 2048 (the very last sub) has an end time of 00:00:00:00.

I could change the value however the video file VTS__12_P01_1.16~9.mpv.M2V shows a data end of 01:56:38:10. So the subs would go beyond the video. I would expect the subs to finish a minute or so before the end of the film as you wouldn’t get subs over the end credits.

I am using the sub file VTS_12_VSUB_P1.idx from DoitFast4U and Subrip. Subrip picks up the sub file as 23.976. I save the output format as Scenarist 30.000 NTSC creating an *.sst file which I use in Scenarist. I have tried both versions 1.14 and the new 1.15 of Subrip. Some info VTS__12_P01_1.16~9.mpv.M2V is PGC 1. PGC 2 is a still which DoitFast4U shows as no-cce.

Any ideas anyone?

I worked it out. The film has subtitles for the song playing during the end credits. So the subtitles continued to the end of the film. The last subtitle “2048 01:56:38:15 00:00:00:00 Subs.2048.bmp”
was a blank bmp and went beyond the end of the film. Edit the film.sst file in notepad to remove this last entry and save the file. Everything is now how it should be.

glad to hear your solved your problem. And also nice to know we have ppl still who can figure out small things like this on their own, instead of the nation of zombies that seems to be arriving with the outbreak (and i use the term outbreak because it implies VIRUS) of crap like dvd2one.
