I tryed to search for this but the key words bring way too many matches...and I could not find any answers.

I have used DVD-SVCD to creat many SVCDs successfully with a cue and bin file....however now I would like to simply duplicate the SVCD CDR.

This is kinda weird because sometimes I can copy them and sometimes I can't. What is weirder still is that the CD copy programs seem to bomb out during the read process, even using the drive that I used to burn them in the first place. I have tryed this on differant machines and with differant burning software namely clone CD, nero, and Adaptec.

I know I can extract the MPEG then use nero to creat a SVCD without chapters....but why is this happening??

make sure your 'source' dvd-rom or cd-rom has great DAE speed. I recommend lite-on dvd-rom 37X average. Check 'ignore read errors' with whatever cd-burning program your using. If I ever get a bomb as you call it I'll attempt to read it to the hd first and if it errors out it almost always can be attributed to a scratch on the cd..sometimes fixable sometimes not.

If you want the original .bin .cue I think you can just extract with cdrwin. Actually not sure if it gives you the chapters or not. I never looked.

yes extracting it from the cue/bin file will preserve the chapters, even the cue file will only have 2 or 3 entries. I have tested this out. however, assuming your burner has burn-proof technology i see no reason why it should bomb out as you say.

Ok thanks for your advice, I will try cdrwin....i think its the only one i didn't try...

It is verrrrry weird....in fact I loaned some SVCD disks to a freind and he had the same trouble.....some would copy others wouldn't...but they are ALL the same size!!!

DVD2SVCD might want to copyright this as a way of copy protection
