After transcoding season1, disc1 of The simpsons, I used ifoupdate to get all the menus and stuff going. The resulting output plays fine in IFOedit's (v0.95) internal DVD player. I burned the files in both Nero's UDF mode and ISO/UDF mode. While they would both play in my computers DVD player w/ power DVD, they won't play in my set-top player. (btw...doing the DVD-Video option gave me reallocation errors. Anything done w/ IFO update gives me reallocation errors...seems there needs to be a guide on how to manually edit the ifo files). So, I tried some other options suggested in the forum and guides, none of which worked. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong, or have any other suggestions?
1) Tried using ImgTools v0.85. Opened it, hit create DVD image. Set the source drive as E: (i had all the files, which were only the vob, ifo and bup files in the root of the drive in a VIDEO_TS folder). I set the IMG output file to both the same drive and a different drive on the occasions i tried to use it. The IMG file that is generated is around 3.4 Gigs in size. I then use DVD decrypter to burn the image. The burn goes successfully, and the disc states it has 3.4 gig of data on it. However, when I use windows explorer to examine the contents of the disc, it's completely empty...it just has an AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS folder with nothing else in them. No other files anywhere. Needless to say, it won't play.
2) Tried using Maestro v2.9 to make an Image file. Opened Maestro, selected Tools -> Make Disc Image. Selected the source/Title set directory (which is still E:\VIDEO_TS Yes, this is a hard drive). I set the output to C:\imgage.img, and hit the Create Disc Image button. A box titled "Premastering Message" pops up, and in the status line it says "No files found to compute disc image". I have the ImgTools.dll file in the same directory that maestro is in (D:\DVDR\DVDMaestro). Any suggestions?
All I want to do is get this *$@! disc playing in my set top player. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I use a sony DRU-500a.
Thank you.
