Hi, first post here. I am currently working recreating a multi-pgc title using a combintaion of different methods that I am documenting and will share after I am done.
Let me give the background of what I am doing to avoid confusion. I have a main movie vob set that contains 40 PGC's. The first pgc contains the entire film (which is contained in vobid 1,2 and 3. Id 3 being just a still). The rest of the pgc's are for the most part a few cells out of vobid1 or vobid2 and one unique still at the end. Here is an example a couple of the PGC's:
PGC_6 (program chain): (Programs: 2) (Cells: 3) (uses VOB-IDs: 1,8)
[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 1/ 1]
[Cell 02] [V/C Id: 1/ 2]
[Ch 02] [Pg 02] [Cell 03] [V/C Id: 8/ 1]
PGC_7 (program chain): (Programs: 2) (Cells: 2) (uses VOB-IDs: 1,9)
[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 1/10]
[Ch 02] [Pg 02] [Cell 02] [V/C Id: 9/ 1]
Where I ran into a problem is apparently there is a max limit of 99 Programs in Scenarist (I could not find this in the documentation, title max of 99 was mentioned but not Program, I found out when my compile failed). When I loaded the chapters for the vobid's I used Chapters for VOBID Autoring selection in InfoUpdate (Thanks Jdobbs, great tool). This gave me a scene in Scenarist for each cell, which is exactly what I wanted. Perhaps where I made my mistake is I dropped the vobid tracks 1,2, and 3 right into the PGC, therefore creating 119 programs as well as cells. As I understand it a Program can contain multiple cells, and is only needed to mark an actual chapter point in the movie. Where I get confused is can a cell that is referanced by a PGC exists without its own Program?
In my example above vobid 1 cell 1 of PGC6 is an actual chapter point for the movie, but vobid 1 cell 2 is not. So could cell 2 exsist under a single program following cell 1, and still function properly when called by PGC 6?
To take it further perhaps cell 2 could exsist under a single program after cell 1 but only because PGC 6 calls vobid 1 cell 1 first and that is an actual chapter point. But, in PGC 7 cell 10 of vobid 1 is called and it is NOT an actually chapter point, it is actually the last cell in chapter 2 of the movie. So if this is the case, cell 10 would need its own program but cell 2 would not??
One more quick question. Once I have recreated the vob set exactly by using the vobid/cells, what is the best setting to use with InfoUpdate when I update the IFO (standard, cell only mode, adjusted cell mode)??
Thanks
