DVD decrypter ripping to slow?

I've tried searching, and read the faq.
but the only thing i can find is that people didn't enable DMA for their DVDplayers, but i did.

the problem is that ripping with DVD decrypter goes at 5 to 7 speed (w/o DMA it's 2 speed), while my DVD is a 24 speed!

do i have to live whith these speeds? or is there a way to get higher speeds?

(p.s.: my DVD is not master and shares his data whith a HD on the same channel, but i rip to the HD on channel 1 while my DVD is on channel 2!)

this prolly wont help but!
most dvd roms r slower at decrypting dvds with encrytion
dual layers also make mine slower
plus i wish i got 5-7 ripping speed(i have a pioneer a04 only works at 2.1)

Hi

I have a Liteon LTD-166S. This starts at about 4x but ramps to 7x by
the end of the disk. I get a few problems with this drive as it can't
always crack the CSS encoding. I get a "No valnerable blocks" error
from DVD Decrypter.

My Toshiba SM-1502 can crack any disk but is restricted to 2x ripping
as is my DVR-105!

I have a 16x Liteon DVD rom, and it usually gets around 5x-9x. It very rarely gets more then that. You will probably have to just live with the speed. You can even look at cd-rom drives, they may be 48x cd-roms, but they rarely (esspecially doing a long read) get over 25x. The Max read value is just that, a max.

PS. Do you really need more then 5x-7x, that will rip a DVD in about 6 minutes? (It is a lot better then the 2x locked drives that take 40 minutes)

actualy it's still more like 15 mins, i was just curious weither my speeds were o.k. but ik guess very few get speeds above 10x, so i'll live with it :D

Speed above 10x is excellent, I'm getting about 6x-8x with my Hyundai DVD-ROM. For most 16x DVD-ROMs, speeds about 7x-9x are the limit, so there's nothing unusual.
