Before I ask my question, I apologise in advance if it has been asked / answered before, but I have looked all over for an answer to this that I can understand. There is loads of technical info on the subject, but I cannot find out how to actually implement it.

I regularly use DVD2SVCD to automate the process of ripping / encoding using CCE with 4 pass VBR with a CD size of 4500 so it just fits onto a DVD. I then use ChapterExtracor / IFOEdit / Nero to finish it off. Results are excellent but I wonder if I am missing out on the benefits of Robshot / RoBa method.

Question - How do I implement the Robshot / RoBa methods with DVD2SVCD so that I can just hit the "go" button and walk away?

You can't. At least not the original method.
By defininition the Robshot method takes manual intervention.

Have a look in the advanced forum there is a very long post on this.

I suspected that this might be the answer.

So the main advantage of the Robshot method is saving on time by having less passes, but it needs intervention between passes.

Probably worth while if youve got nothing better to do but sit by your PC, but I'd rather let my PC get on with it doing multiple passes while I'm working / sleeping or whatever.

Responses welcome!

the main advantage of the robshot method is maintaining constant quality with every rip that you do.

I use my PC all the time while I am encoding. Just set the priority to low in DVD2SVCD and other tasks will have CPU priority. This doesn't really increase encode times much since most programs use very little CPU. Just don't expect to be able to do some major gaming while encoding.
