I've been having trouble with ripping SF Alpha the movie. I first tried ripping it with SmartRipper and the VOBs were in a strange scrambled order. I then tried DVD Decrypter. It ripped the VOBs perfectly in Direct Stream Processing, but I can't get VobSub to work. It will extract the subs, but when I try to load it I get nothing. What should I do with the subs? What are the recommendations for ripping the subs?

SubRip will be perfect for this job

My problem with the same movie is that it loads on the DVD player and reaches the menu screen. But if I try playing the movie or a chapter, it freezes and skips like still-frames throughout the film without stopping, until it reaches the end.
And if I wanna play a different option other than the movie, it wont load and brings me back to the menu screen.
Any help or advice? Thanks.

@Toasty
Hi!
By any chance, is your standalone DVD player a SONY?
If so, try loading your already ripped DVD into DVD Shrink (v.3.2), set to "No Compression" - and (save and) burn...

Undoubtedly a burning issue. Read and implement the tips outlined here (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=49635).
