I am trying to make a svcd using DVD2SVCD, Using the newest version. The Movie has 5 vob files, I can play them on WINDVD. It only shows a movie length of 1:33:19, but the real movie length is 2:31:33. When I go to rip and convert, it shows 5 vobs, but it only rips 3 vobs enough for 1:33:19. I put in the movie length 2:31:33 in the conversion tab, still only rips 3 vobs. How can get the whole movie riped and converted?

Thanks Babu C.

name of the movie? You sure do you have two .ifo files that would equal 2:31:19?

There are two folders, Audio_ts (no files in it) and Video_ts with 10 files
Video_ts.bup
Video_ts.ifo
Vts_01_0.bup
Vts_01_0.ifo
Vts_01_0.vob
Vts_01_1.vbo
Vts_01_2.vbo
Vts_01_3.vbo
Vts_01_4.vbo
Vts_01_5.vbo
When I go to rip, it shows all 1,2,3,4 and 5 vbo files, but the rip stops at 3.vbo, to correspond to the time it gives in the Movie length estimated by DVD2SVCD - 1:33:19. 4.vbo and 5.vbo are needed to finish the movie. I am able to copy each file by itself to my hard drive and they are all playable by WinDVD, and the play time for all 5 vobs, is 2:31:33.

With the above information, how can I get the SVCD made? Any suggestions ? Thanks

Babu C.

Try switching from Internal routines to Vstrip on the ripping tab and see if it ripps it all. Keep in mind that vstrip makes new Vob's without many of the items that maybe in them so there may be fewer when you are done. Play them in WinDVD just to be sure it got all the movie.

I tried one more thing. I did copy all the files from the DVD onto my firewire drive. WinDVD looks for the Video_ts folder, and it found it on the Firewire drive and started to play just like a DVD movie. I thought that the DVD drive may not be fast enought for the rip. Is there a way to direct DVD2SVCD to the hard drive?

I enabled the Vstrip, but it did not make any difference riping form the DVD. It is a challenge now how to get this done?

Thanks

Just select the IFO off the HD.
Don't click on the disc looking icon, but the folder one next to it.

Hi Mark,
As suggested, I used the ifo file from the hard drive, and Vstripe instead of internal routines, and it showed that it was riping the following vbo files.
Vts_01_1.vbo
Vts_01_2.vbo
Vts_01_3.vbo
Vts_01_4.vbo
Vts_01_5.vbo
It only made two sets of cue bin files. I burned them, but it is still 1 hour and 36min, just enough for vob 1,2 and 3. Still did not touch 4 and 5. When I use winDvd and click on the ifo file, it plays all 5 in seq. What next? Thanks

Joe.
