After capturing my DV videos and compressing them to MPEG2 with TMPGEncoder, I’d like to make SVCDSs with fun menus (with backgrounds and music).
Where can I find a program to do such? (free if possible)
PS – Nero is good but I can’t add music to my menus
Thanks all

i'm following several guides to menu creation with vcdeasy, and i've managed to get my menu/mpeg still to come up once you load the disc, but tell me something, are svcd menus restricted (via PBC) only to numeric key assignments?
after starting the movie, what should happen if I press "MENU" on my remote (or the software dvd player control panel)? does the "MENU" key work for SVCDs?
my current problem is I cannot return to the menu after starting the movie; is this expected? if not, can someone point me to how to do this

I've wrote a lot of posts about the SVCD/VCD playback in this forum. Please search it.

S(VCD)'s do not use the "MENU" button as such.
However, as well as the numeric buttons, you can assign the buttons:
PREV (Same button as DVD)
NEXT (Same button as DVD)
RETURN (Depends on the model of DVD Player, but usually is marked on your remote)
DEFAULT (Usually the Play button)
I assign my menus in VCDEasy to the RETURN button.

My 1st post in the following thread(last updated 10th December 2002):
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39558
has a detailed description of this button.
Further more, in this thread I've point out what to do if your DVD-player/Remote-Control does not have the (S)VCD-substitution-function-button "RETURN". The 50% of DVD-player/RC do not have/support the button "RETURN". But if you have a well featured dvd player(like my one "Mustek DVD V560" which has no such button), the "STOP" button will take the function of "RETURN"/"GO UP" button.
Hope you've really learned something this time.
Last advice: using binoculars while searching next time.
