Excuse my ignorance but the extent to my audio encoding experience in the past has only included ripping from audio CD's to MP3. This was accomplished by using simple programs with simple graphic user interfaces. (dBpowerAMP)

I have decided that I now want to make Dolby Digital audio CDs from my large DVD collection. I am going to go out and by a DVD drive if I can first figure out how to produce VERY high quality Dolby Digital audio CDs. I have read through all of the guides and read through the faq’s. I have decided that I will use the following Doom9 guide:

“BeSure guide - last updated 06/14/02”
“How to create DTS or Dolby Digital audio CDs from AC3 files”

I have some questions that are not clear in the guide. Specifically:
1) Will my final product be identical to the original DVD’s in regards to audio quality?
2) How will I create an AC3 file from the DVD to my computer?

You input is greatly appreciated. I am eager for knowledgeable responses.
Thank you,
hottyson
