View Full Version : Cendyne 105 == Pioneer 105?

I have been interested in purchasing a 4x dvd burner for quite a while but the price always put me off.

Recently i've seen the Cendyne pop up at various auctions on ebay and stores on pricewatch for a very atractive price. They claim that they are rebadged Pioneers.

So now comes my question, how different are these from the Pioneers? Do they have the same disc compatibility as the pioneers?
But most importantly would I be able to flash these drives to the latest firmware patches from Pioneer? And would they be recognized as Pioneers by the os?

Sorry to ask such stupid questions(and for writing in English so bad :o ).

Thank you for your time.

They are not different. Most that open the box find a Pioneer sticker on the drive. It's simply repackaged from what I have been told.

Yes it's a Pioneer 105. From what I gather, the only thing that's different is tech support (you call CenDyne instead of Pioneer). I'm not sure if it comes with the same software bundle as the Pioneer 105 though.

Q: Is the Pioneer 105 the OEM version of the A05 or is it the other way around?

That's good to hear, considering the price difference.

Thanks for the quick replies.

The 105 is the oem version the A05 is the retail.
