Mitsui DVD-R ADVDinfo??

Did ADVDinfo on a Mitsui DVD-R (well it states that around the inner ring anyway "Mitsui DVD-R 4.7V2 2X") this is what it came back with:

so by that it indicates "Taiyo Yuden" correct? Whats going on here?

Mitsui are rebading Tioyo Yuden DVD-R's as their own. Quite a common thing with recordable media.

this information do not show the real manufacturer it only shows which code is used to be comPatible by the software and the burner

I doubt that Mitsui would trifle with its reputation by rebadging media, made by a manufacturer who fakes IDs

don t u heard about tdk ID which is used by some manufacturers ?

they are using id for cheap media to make it the most compatible

of course i do not doubt that mitsui dvd-r are excellent but this not really prouve that the real manufacturer is taiyo yuden !! maybe ritek or other

they are using id for cheap media to make it the most compatible You need a special definition for "compatible" to make that true...let's say they use these IDs to make it burn at 2x.

The difference between Mitsui and Princo is that Mitsui has a reputation to lose.

Ritek has a reputation to lose as well (most reliable discs among the cheap ones), and Taiyo Yuden would be very annoyed if they discovered anyone to use their ID.

I am sure these discs are Taiyo Yuden (only think of how few media is 100% reliable at 2x speed! Even if they were indeed not Taiyo Yuden, there were only few possibilities, none of which is Ritek)
