View Full Version : '0 Chapter Points imported' error in Maestro

I've imported the *.M2V, *.AC3 & *.SON files for my project into Maestro. However, I get a '0 Chapter Points imported' error when I attempt to import a *.CHP file. The formatting appears to be correct. Does anyone know what causes this error?, how to avoid it? If I can't get around the error, which function do I use to create chapter points manually in Maestro?

check the timecode of the m2v file

as auenf said, reset the video timecode from the video clock to 0:00:00.00

Thank you. The time code was the problem.

Well, I seem to be having the same problem as PJC, still resetting the clock to 'midnight' did not help at all.

The movie timeline shows 00:00:00:00 as does the Video Timestamp Offset, I've also tried using both zero-based and asset timecode but to no avail. What strikes me as odd is that when moving the cursor over the timeline from right to left the counter below the wall clock does not get to 00:00:00:00 but to 00:00:00:06 as if the whole thing would start at frame six. My chapter list however starts at 00:00:00:00.

For a test I deleted the first line from the chapter list but still I get '0 chapter points important'. What am I doing wrong? TIA!

Do u have set the CCE chapter I-frame during encoding. If not u can only set the chapters in Maestro manually and make sure they r a close to the original tc as possible

I'm not quite sure I can follow you cause I haven't been using CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder, right?) at all. As said before, I've extracted some Buffy eps from various DVDs with DVD2ONE and reassembled them in another order and a selfmade menu with Maestro so as to have them all ready for a specific arc-run with my friends.

As each single ep is complete movie (video, audio, subtitle) I ripped out both m2v and ac3 with Smartripper and the chapters with ChapterXtractor. Now when I import these assets in Maestro it works fine except for the chapters and I have no idea why!

I usually remember the details of the overall image of a post and a thread. What u mention above hasn't been reported at all until now.

Now that we r looking at the whole picture, we may try to provide a solution.

1. Have u tried to magnify to the extreme allowed the timeline and try to reach 0:00:00:00 or it it still stopping at 0:00:00:06. If it is the case then try to add 6frames to each timecode in the chp file.

2. Try to place one or two chapters at the specified position from the chp file and check the timecode that Maestro actually selected for it, (right click to the chapter marker and select edit).
Subtract the timecode from the chp and the one by Maestro to find out the offset.
Repeat for a second chapter. If the offset is the same just add/subtract it, whatever is applicable, to the timecodes in the whole chp file and import.

3. If it too much, add by hand there can't be a lot of them.

What is happened here is that chapterXtractor reports chapter points in a frame that isn't actually an I-frame. That is why Maestro can't import the chapter list.
Why it is happening was a subject in a thread, I believe it was ScenChapt, back at mid to fall 2k2.

I hope I was of any help. No that I read the post It seems a bit complex.

Right, I wasn't specific enough, my bad. However, I found the solution: upon saving in ChapterXtractor I had to enter an offset of 00:59:58:00 as in the m2v-file. Than I can import the chapters and everything runs smoothly.

I did not think of this immediately myself simply because I expected it to work without an offset since I already had reset the timeline to 00:00:00:00 and imported chapters on that bases.

Well, from now on I'll just keep the m2v offset and import chapters accordingly.

Maestro imports chapter points according to the video's internal timecode and not based on the timeline clock.

That is something I never thought off. I assumed that reseting the timeline should be enough.
