I am using DVDMaestro to author a homevideo. It has a main menu that has a link to the home video and a chapter selection menu. The video is being divided into 23 chapters and each chapters has the end action set to main menu. However, when playing a chapter in the chapter selection menu, I was sent back to the main menu everytime I press the menu button. How come it doesn't return me to the chapter selection menu. How do I set the setting so that everytime a menu button is pressed during video playback, I will get sent back to the previous menu?
I am pretty sure that this is easy and someone knows the answer, but I have been trying to figure this out for a long time?
I have no clue how to create command sequences, so if you want to give command sequences then please be clear?
Thanks.

In the same box as "End action" there is an option called "Menu Key".

Just link this to the chapter selection screen and you're set.

I know that. The problem with that is when I link each CHAPTER'S MENU KEY to the chapter selection menu, everytime I play the movie from the MAIN MENU and then press menu button during play back, it will take me back to the chapter selection menu and not to the main menu, which is where the movie was originally picked to play.
See, the problem is that you can have two separate links to the same target within two separate menus. In this case, one is the main menu, and the other is the chapter selection menu. The link in the main menu is "PLAY MOVIE", and the link in the chapter selection menu is "CHAPTER 1", so to speak. When you play your video from either menus, how do you tweak the settings in DVDMaestro so that when pressing the menu button, you will be sent back to the PREVIOUS menu.

if you only use menus, then you can use the 'go up' button, so instead of using a movie with chapters, create a menu for each of them, and they will act as a motion menu, and you can set the menu timeout the same as you would the 'end action' of a chapter.

btw, going back to the main menu is the 'title' key, going back to the chapter menu is the 'menu key'

Ok, if I make each chapter a motion menu, then at the end of every chapters, there is a slight pause that interrupt the viewing experience. I thought this "Return to Previous Menu" is intuitive in DVDMaestro, because I had used DVDit PE before and it has this feature as default. I mean...I don't really need it, but it would be nice for it to work out.
As for the Title button on the DVD player's remote control, I have a Progressive Scan Toshiba SD3750, and it does not have a Title key...
So I don't know...
But thanks anyway.

whether its called 'title', 'menu' or 'top menu' doesnt matter, but there is a button on your remote that will take you to the title menu, no matter where you are.
