Hi, I'm trying to re-author the ''Star Trek: The Motion Picture'' DVD (PAL version), but the video files are a bit too much long for 1 DVD-R; so I've decided to re-encode the video, or at least some chapters...
...BUT I've got into trouble!! When I load the .M2V video files (ripped by SmartRipper or DVD Decrypter, it's the same) into TMPGEnc, it (TMPGEnc) reports that the files' length is only 1 or 2 seconds!!! &, of course, they're MUCH MORE longer. &, unfortunately, it only re-encodes those 1 or 2 seconds.
The video files aren't corrupted in any way: I've tried the ripping process several times & they can be played by PowerDVD 4 (perfectly) & by Windows Media Player 7 (though in this Microsoft program, the files play strangely ''accelerated''). Furthermore, those files can be used to re-author the DVD without any problem!! The only problem happens when you try to re-encode them, & I NEED to do that!!
Is this (perhaps) some strange method of copy-protection?? Are the files bad mastered (problems with interlacing, fields order & such things)?? Has anyone encountered this problem before?? Please, can you help me??!!
(You know, technically I'm almost a ''newbie'', but I've read quite a few guides & I've used TMPGEnc before -with a bunch of other files, from both PAL & NTSC discs- without any problem...)
