Speed and Types in CD Burning

Could you tell me your cd-writer type, cd-r brands, writing speeds and errors (if there are any) when you are burning your monies?

I havn't had one coaster with the FujiFlim.
Teons has been the worst cd-r brand 5 of 20 failed burning, with 4 of the 15 that worked, the top layer flaked in the drive later. :angry:

Plextor 40/12/40
whatever cdr is on sale for a nickel or less each.
Set to 40x max burn, usually runs 16x to 32x, burner adjusts to the disk.
Never seen a coaster with Plextor, 700+ disks burned using this brand.

i have the same as jeremy, however i found that these maxell 700mb 16x discs i got from a friend coaster if i try to write files to them but i can make an audio cd with them no problem, very strange. mostly i use tdk 40x, or whatever speed they have out at the time i buy them and i never get a coaster. im very happy with my $67 burner.

i should add that i have burned many maxell 700mb discs before without a problem so i think its these last few discs he had.

Only got an error once due to the writer and not my mistake. It quit working all together. It wouldn't even eject the CD. I took it apart and couldn't find anything wrong with it. When I put it back together, it worked just like before. I've used it for over a year, of buring just about every day. I actually really liked it until I upgraded to a faster burner. Despite that one incident, I've liked this drive second-best out of any CD-RW drive I've ever had, only beaten by the ASUS.

Truthfully, none. No errors. I really like it. I burn at least once every other day with this one for over six months and never had a problem.

No errors yet. Only had this one 3 months and only burn about four times a week with it. Honestly, I've enjoyed this drive more than any other drive I've ever had.


As a side note, my Creative labs 12x DVD-ROM sucks! My Sony 16x is much better. I've got a second Sony 16x just to replace the Creative labs DVD-ROM. The only good thing about the Crative Labs, was that it came with a Sigma Designs Hollywood plus card, which totally rocks.


Usually buring data CDs, although lately a lot of SVCDs. I've only used Nero with these drives, which might or might not be important.
