DVD under 4.7GB or less:
DVD decrypter (ISO read/write mode)

DVD over 4.7GB main movie under 4.7GB:
DVD decrypter (stream processing mode), ifoedit, primodvd

DVD over 4.7GB main movie over 4.7GB:
DVD decrypter (stream processing mode), cce, ifoedit, primodvd

Note I always use the disc image button with ifoedit, and I know I could burn the resulting .img file with dvd decrypter, but for some reason I'm more happy using primo dvd to do the burning.

excellent, thanks for the heads up I can go on to read some more.

Some simple question, how can you tell how large the actual move file is ?

Secdonly, using dvd2one, any menus there are, are stripped out. Doing it the 'old' fasioned way, are the menus retained?

Lastly, dvdxcopy, does this proggy retain menus on copying?

DVD decrypter (ISO read/write mode) will retain all menus, and extra features.

The other methods I use do not retain any of the menu's as I personally find them to be a pain.

If you load up DVD decrypter in iso read mode it will tell you how many layers the movie is. If it's one layer go ahead with the iso read. if it's two layers, go to stream processing mode, and rip/demux the audio and video stream you want. Once it starts ripping it will tell you the file size. (this is all from memory, since I'm at work now).

To the best of my knowledge, the current version of DVD2one does not keep any menus.

DVDXcopy does however, (could be wrong).
