hi to you all,
im tring to burn dvd movie's from last october and i only succeeded with 3 movies, for long time when i used with nero i had problem that the stand alone dvd could find any disc but i just found the good way for me to burn them and it using imagetools and decryptor, the stand alone dvd are finding every movie BUT not all of them he play , and im explaing : all the movies i insert he found a dvd movie but he doesnt start playing them i get on the dvdplayer display the title , chapter and time of 00:00:00 , but thats where he stuck, so im thinking that the problem is somewhere in the ifo file something that should be done with ifoedit... and the reason that i succeeded with 3 movies is just luck.
i dont know much about ifoedit i know that after im splitting and copying the 2 video_ts files i need to press get vts sector and for the second part to go to the pre command and choose there jump to title number 1. also the guide of how to split and burn movies doesnt say anything more.
please help me and tell me what is my problem and of course how am i solve it ?????

Try to play the DVD in IFOEdit if it plays then your problem is Nero. Nero is not the best choice for burning DVD's.
Use Prassi Primo DVD, RecordNow Max, or DVD Decrypter to burn an image you can make with Ifo Edit.

fibola,
I'm trying to understand your situation. Is all the movies that failed you, movies that were split to 2 DVDs?

This might be an authoring problem, like not specifying the "first play" item when the disc is inserted, so the disc is recognized, but the player is not told to do anything (just a 2 cents guess).
Please fibola give some more details on how you authored your DVD.

im sorry im not sure what you mean by authored to dvd ,so please explain it to me.
if you mean the hole procces then :
1. ripping them movie.
2. split it using ifoedit : see picture
3. copy the video_ts files to each video_ts directory .
4. press get vts sector to the first part and for the second im going in the video_ts.ifo to pre command --> jump to title number 1 and then get vts sector.
5. create AUDIO_TS directory to each part ,
6. using imagetools to create the image and burn it using decryptor ,or record now max.
hope that's what you ment.

Did you preview your second disk before you burnt it?
Also, are you keeping the menu? If so, you need to copy over your movie menu vob like VTS_01_0.vob if your movie is title 1.
Going on above quote, if you should have your "AutoCopy Menu files to destination" checked in VOB extras when splitting. After that all you need is to copy over VIDEO_TS.VOB and VTS_01_0.VOB. Then Get VTS sectors.

Yes

Keeps you from making coasters.
So you when you put a (JumpTT) Jump to Title: 1 as your Pre Command #1 in VIDEO_TS.IFO/VMGM_MAT/First Play PGC, it didn't work? Should have.

Maybe there's something in your pre-commands in your VTS_01_0.IFO/VTS_PGCITI/VTS_PGC_1 that's navigating you to somewhere else. I'm assuming that you have one VTS_PGC present? Backup your IFO and then delete all your pre-commands. Save IFO and preview with IFOedit.

Work on VTS_PGC_* that contains more cells than the other. That's your movie.

I have followed the guide on splitting a dvd9 to 2 dvd-rs to the teeth I believe, but when I go to burn the movie Nero tells me that favorite thing it likes to say when something's not right: "DVD-Video files reallocation failed. The reulting DVD-Video might be unplayable. Do you want to continue?" Anybody overcome that same problem trying to split a dvd to 2 dvdrs? Thanks.

Although, the guise says to do this: "Last but not least VIDEO_TS.VOB, VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP must also be present on both discs." I didn't do that because both discs appeared to already have them. Do I need to do that and overwrite them on both discs? Thanks

Try burning with Imgtools with "reallocate VIDEO_TS structure" unchecked. I haven't tried the newest version of Nero yet but 5.5.17.9 has worked for me.

Unchecking the reallocate VIDEO_TS Structure box didn't help. The disc wouldn't play. I burned it with image tools too. Thanks though.
