Hi, I´m a pretty newbie!

I´m using ReMpeg to transcode, but that is rather slow, so I heard CCE is very fast, but I use Ifoedit to strip my streams (I choose all files in Dvd decrypt/Smartripper.) I read that it´s not possible to remux a *.m2v files compiled in CCE, WHY???

It´s possible using ReMpeg, so what´s the diffrence, both *.m2v??

I appreciate an aswere, because I consider to use CCE instead.
I read the FukHead's Backup Method 4 (CCE) guide, but I think it´s more complicated, isn´t it??

.m2v streams that have been created with CCE, CAN be remuxed (at least with DVDMaestro, i don't use IfoEdit's authoring feature), so rather use CCE, than ReMPEG2.

I started out using REMPEG. Then went with TMPG. Now I'm using CCE. No question, it's the best and by far the fastest! Here's a quick overview of my method:

1). Rip with Smartripper/DVD Decrypter and demux video and audio to extra files.

2). Create DVD2AVI project file. (Force Film,Disable audio demux)

3). Convert to psuedo AVI file with VFAPI

4). Load AVI file into CCE. Configure settings and re-encode. 3-4 hrs on my Athalon XP 2200.

5). Use Pulldown on new M2V file.

6). Author with SpruceUp

Done. Let me know if you need any specifics.

I need all the specifics I can get!!!! I have just learn to use Ifoedit and using the method described here @ doom9, eg multi angels, menu´s etc, etc. The Ifoedit/ReMpeg combo seems so easy compared to CCE. Isn´t there any newbie guide for CCE/Ifoedit??

I´m living in Sweden so I need subtitles, seems complicated when using stream processing.

I hope you will guide me further

Ah, subtitles would change things a bit. Let's start over. You have an m2v file that needs shrinking and you want to do it via CCE instead of REMPEG. That's easy enough, but then you want to re-mux using IFOEdit? I've never tried it, however, I'm doing a DVD right now and thought I'd try IFOEdit for re-muxing and authoring. I'll let you know how it turns out in a few hours.

IFOedit works just fine as an authoring tool. I use it all the time

Well, I tried it and it didn't work. Followed the above guide suggested by malum. When I hit the "DVD Play" button in IFOEdit it says "No valid DVD volume could be located" abd Prassi wouldn't burn it either. Any suggestions???

Can I use CCE Trial version or do I need the full version??
It cost $2000, so.....

All I can tell you is that is the method I use on all my movies and they all work fine

You will need the full version of CCE otherwise you get their logo in the corner of your video footage.
