huh!

i had a dvd (pure cult) which contains clips & interviews. all i want is to burn clips only without other stuff. it's easy to strip out intervies (using by smartripper) but after that the chapter points is completely wrong (of course). is it possible to manually set the chapters wit ifoedit?
thnx

What you are suggesting would be best done if you made your own compilation. Trying to reintegrate clips like this into the original structure would be unstable at best. I doubt you would ever end up with anything usable. Just use the audio and video you have for each clip and make your own menu and chapter points, etc. Don't be afraid to do something original! :) Often times, it can be a lot more fun than backing up a DVD.

i'm not afraid to do something original, but after extracting *.m2v and *.ac3 files when i'm tried to author it (using by ifoedit) some error messages appeared. i'm tried to use spruce up and again error because of the sound.

i'm not afraid to do something original, but after extracting *.m2v and *.ac3 files from the vob when i'm tried to author it (using by ifoedit) some error messages appeared. i'm tried to use spruce up for the same thing but again error because of the *.ac3.
is it possible to compile dvd direct from vob files?

IFOedit is just an authoring tool. It's not true authoring software. You really should try using real authoring software for making a DVD instead of IFOedit.
