Just D/L'd the Pana standalone demo at work, and I see that there is a compliancy setting specifically for creating DVDit!-importable MPEG2 streams!! It always did used to drive me nuts that DVDit! would always accept TMPGEnc streams, only to then reject them when a compile was attempted. Perhaps Panasonic are so acutely aware of this issue, despite DVDit! updates, that they nevertheless felt it necessary to cater for the suffering unfortunates!
I will check out the output quality of the encoder itself once I have had a chance to install the demo on my own machine. I must admit I'm not expecting amazing things, since previous versions weren't spectacular, but...
I STILL can't get comfortable with MainConcept's offering, much though I would like to be able to recommend it. Personally, I think the picture quality is pretty decent, but I find the encoder very erratic.
Anyone else tried the latest build of the Pana' encoder?
Arky ;o)
