why the program says 3CDS for the first time, and finally change it to 1CD (very bas quality)?
thank you

although I've never used it, I know dvd2svcd said that it was buggy and that's why you have to manually change the ini file in order to even use it. i think he's still working on it

I have done about 30 encodes with the roba method. Out of the 30 about 5 have ended up as 1 cd. I don't have an answer as to why. I have tried different settings but no success. If it dosen't work just use your normal method.

Have a look at the huge thread in the advanced forum.

i havent read this huge post yet, but i think i have found a way to fix this problem.
just click on USE FRAME SELECTION and when the dvd2avi finish select the start frame and the end frame (also you can quit the final credits to get extra bitrate) this will make the cce to calculate 3cds instead of 1cds.
i have tested it and it works.

I will give it a try.
Thanks

:D

But RoBa calculates CD's number automatic, to use the option "User Frame Selection" probably it does not allow to the method to work correctly.

Dont you force CD's number?

"User Frame Selection" probably it does not allow to the method to work correctly

obtained results:
3CDS with an avg. bitrate of 1750 more or less
quality: excellente, included war scenes.

I have just done an encode using the roba method and ended up with 1 cd. Tried the same encode using Frame Selection and ended up with two cd's. So it seems to work. Will do some more testing and see what results i get.

Ok

I think that you have misunderstood the idea behind the RoBa method. The idea is not to control the number of CDs used but to maintain a minimum quality in all the movies you make with RoBa (using the same settings between each encode naturally). So you see in that respect dvd2svcd will just use the number of CDs needed. So it is not an error, it is fully intentional and imho it is not a downside but an upside because it is one less concern for the user.
The author of D2S explains in another thread that CD's number is calculated always by RoBa.

Well, when you activate "User frame selection" you can choose CD's number, isn't it?.

Is This spoils the method RoBA?

is D2S prepared to use RoBa together with " User frame... "?¿?

Hi TRALALA and good afternoon from Spain =)
ok... a simple way to answer your question:
ill try to pass the same movie, and ill say 2CDs in the frame selection in order to see if the roba method does the film in 2CDs or in 3CDs as usual.

Here, do you select 2 or 3 cds?

If "User frame..." ignores the CD's number it would be really good. For example to cut the final credits. Although it should only work to cut. The others features of "User frame..." I don't believe that they are compatible with RoBa.

(No me repliques más jr q llevo razón... hehehe :p)

TRALALA i dont remember if i selected 2 or 3 CDs... sorry
but i think the frame selection uses the bitrate settings to adjust the number of CDs, so if this is correct, the frame selection said 3CDs.
I wont be able to do another test with this film, cos i have lost the DVD and i deleted it from my computer. Thanks god i made a copy =)
