referring to a recent discussion here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=250630) ,
to watch movies always needs different screen settings than using the windows environment:
"movies are too dark"...ok, but better to adjust screen settings than enlight a movie with filters, dark gives quality,
the same for contrast, better to adjust the screen since a very contrasted movie needs more bytes to encode.

Said that, im not very satisfyed with my screen settings control:
1- hard to access and to manage, i have to open 4 menu windows in screen property, and the property box isnt manageable like a program.

2- insufficient settings available, im lucky to have gamma there, not only bright-contrast,

but should be needed separate controls for bright and dark areas, both in brightness and contrast, better also for midtones,
gamma and other light adjustements.

Anyone knows of a fast and tiny prog with a lot of light settings,
or of a player that includes that?

I am also asking to the player programmers to put many more brightness settings ,not only contrast and brightenss,
but also gamma and intensity, saturation and others,
over the separate controls,in brightness and contrast, for dark, midtones and white.

only for me?

but i think that a general screen tool would be very better,

you can use then all the players and tools you need, also virtual dub.

Have u tried to do some colors presets via the advanced controls of your video cards ?

That could works fine if you're not afraid to be blind :p

Ok i apologize i misunderstood you thread.

I was thinking you were talking of OSD control settings on the monitor.

I think i must improve my english ( and my knowledge ) if i want to help someone there :(

Oh, just a little thing, if u have an nvidia card and if u do this custom presets and you activate the icon in the systray, just a right clik on the icon allow you to swith between presets.

But i agree with you, there's not settings enough for movie playback
