which format to choose???

hi,

i am new at this...i have dll some avi files and transformed them to play in my stand alone dvd in vcd format...for my eye quality is good...but i have been surfing on the net and saw that there is other formats...and i am beginning to be very confused...my dvd will not play svcd except with the header trick...so which is the best...

- regular vcd

- svcd with header trick

- kvcd templates that uses vcvd format

what to choose

which format is better on a long term bases


please help me i am so confused...

Hi and welcome to the forums.

A couple of things first though. Around here we don't discuss illegally downloaded movies, and we prefer thread titles without the extra annoying punctuation marks. Please read the Forum Rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) and the Sanctions (http://forum.doom9.org/sanctions.htm) you might be in for. I hope you catch the moderator of this forum, aleksander, in a good mood today.:)

Having said that, I'd recommend doing it to SVCD with the header trick for compatibility reasons. It's better quality than VCD, and some (many?) players won't play the non-spec VCDs. Others may have a different opinion, though.

I agree. It's minor and nothing that I would ever issue a strike for. But I have seen strikes issued for that in other forums, though and it's something he should be aware of. But mentioning downloaded movies isn't minor, and the 2 together were indications that he hadn't yet read the rules. But he's new, and we cut new members some slack.
