In that case the only choice is to install realone and let it once open the file and download the needed plugin.

DemiGod, could u upload somewhere a part of a Southpark episode that does not work so that i try to solve the problem.

Use rmeditor.exe to cut a part of your southpark.rm(vb) file.

rmeditor can be found in this pack (9dub is NOT necessary) :

will cut the first 22.600 seconds of input.rmvb to output.rmvb

I've installed mpc and RV9 codec pak on three AMD based CPU, XP2100+, T-bird 1.4Ghz, and K6-2 433Mhz: The XP and K6-2 already have RealOneV2Gold player installed, and mpc seeking option are working fine. The T-bird 1.4Ghz does not have realone install, and the seek option on it is also working fine. However, I have seek problem on a P3 733Mhz: Seek function works fine if RealOneV2Gold player is installed. It will locked the player if RealOne is uninstalled. The only difference between the T-bird 1.4Ghz and the P3 733Mhz software installation is that RealOne player was installed previously on the P3 prior to mpc and RV9 codec pak was installed. Whereas, RealOne player was never install on the T-bird 1.4Ghz system. MPCv6.4.2.0 2KXP & 98ME are used.

A request if I may: Is it possible for this player have the option of output/capture a single frame or a series of frames to either a bmp/jpeg file based on manually capture it or set a range of frames just like BSplayer?

Saving audio and video is possible, but because the frame scheduling and dropping is controlled by the decoder internally I can't assure that everything makes into the output.

what about snapping a single frame already at the output during freeze/pause? This is what I usually do with BSplayer.

I couldn't reproduce this seeking problem on my three machines at home, so I still don't have any idea about it...

I just confirmed the seeking problem on the P3 733Mhz computer at work four times. All I did was simply uninstall RealOneV2gold player and seek will lock up mpc. Note: uninstall RealOne2gold player will also wipe out the RV9 codec pak, so I have to reinstall the RV9 codec pak in order for mpc to play RM clips.

Re-install RealOneV2gold player and seeking is working flawlessly once again.

I believe many of the RealNetworks DLLs as installed by the stand-alone MPC installer by akabob require registry keys to function correctly. Maybe this is why there are problems that are hard to reproduce. If RealOne has been installed, those registry keys already exist, but if RealOne has been un-installed or never installed, the registry keys are missing.

Media Player Classic works great for RM content on my system though, where I also have a regular RealOne installation. I use it for all other content than RM, maybe even RM sometimes ;)

MPC RV9 is a first attempt to get rid of RealPlayer 9.
Many dlls were removed and others packed to make the final setup as small as possible while allowing to read most RV9 files.

Seeking problem onto 700Mhz is probably due to a missing dll/plugin
I'll try to solve the problem.
Minimal registry keys are created with the setup under:
HKCR\Software\RealNetworks

When Removing RealPlayer 9, those reg keys and dlls are deleted
Dlls are stored under:
Program Files\Common Files\Real

You also need pncrt.dll (same folder as MPC
No need to register any dll coz Pf\Commnon files is an environment path.

Try installing RealPlayer 9, then uninstall one after one each dll in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real then check RV9 files/seeking to see if it works well with MPC.

Media Player Classic uses much less cpu than Realone player v2 on my System.
With a duron 1200MHz, I often get dropped frames with realone player.

1. uninstall RealOne Player
2. Remove http://g.touvet.free.fr/rv9/rv9.php?cat=logi installer pak
3. Remove all Real's leftover
4. Install your RV9 codec pak

Now I can play RM9 and seek with mpc without any issue.

Hey here is something. I always have MediaPlayerClassic, realone, and quicktime on my computer. and I use MPC to play realmedia files and realone to play quicktime files. but i still need quicktime to be left installed because of the browser plugin interaction. and for some reason media player classic can't play quicktime files through the realmedia interaction. but not in every case. MPC can play quicktime files if the .mov file was encoded using an 'open end' codec, which are usually outdated, like intel indeo, but it can't play .mov files encoded in sorenson video 3. however realone can play sorenson encoded .mov files? what am i missing here? how come mplayerc can't play sorenson encoded .mov files but realone can? Is there some way the helix communities open source initiative be able to help MPC in this? also on a side note, is it possible to have MPC integrated into web browser's as a plugin to play media files and if not then would it be possible for realone's browser plugin to also play quicktime files?

If you watch closer how realone plays quicktime you will notice that is uses the same embeded activex control like browsers, even the playback controls are there at the bottom. Now, this technique can't be used with realone's api because using such a control only needs pure windowing work and not some multimedia api. Also, this means there is no way to only extract the picture and sound for playback and put it anywhere on the desktop, only the qt control can be used and positioned somewhere inside another window.also on a side note, is it possible to have MPC integrated into web browser's as a plugin to play media files and if not then would it be possible for realone's browser plugin to also play quicktime files?No, I have no idea how to do it :)

I tried it, but it doesn't cut on key frame. Is it possible to force the cut on KF?

I ran into the same problem a while back and asked our producer expert. The answer is: no, unfortunately not. Rmeditor will try to cut as close to where you tell it to cut. The best way to achieve what you mention is to use the GUI rmeditor (unfortunately, this only ships with the producer plus) to pick the start cut point a few milliseconds before a video keyframe. We could eventually add this type of feature to the command-line app (snap cut to video keyframe), assuming we had the time.
