Well I have been busy with 2001 Pal R2 and this dvd has three audios......
1st: English
2nd: French:
3rd: Extra audio for trailer.
I am authoring this with Maestro. Now ...naturally i used the multi-pgc method for this one......created my playlists ..added my m2v and came to the point where i was gonna add the audio....I added both 1st and 3rd audio tracks to maestro which i had demuxed using dvd2avi......in the end the authoring works fine.....after ifoupdate the DVD works perfect however when i go to the trailer from the menu and i select the trailer ...the trailer starts but i cannot hear the audio.....it seems that the 3rd audio track which is for the trailer does not seem to link to the trailer ..any ideas on how to make sure that the 3rd audio (second in maestro) track is linked to the trailer which is in the main m2v.???? I simply added everything and authored but looks like i might have missed something. Have i missed something here that i was supposed to do before authoring.

you need to create sync audio track for doing the multipgc in maestro.
for the first two lines use the right audio file for the movie, use a blank audio file (of the same channels and bitrate), and the reverse for the 3rd track.

Hi auenf!!! Thnx for your reply..let me see if i got this straight:
So since i would use the first audio file i put it in just like it is ..for the second audio which was french i use a dummy audio file right...and the third u say reverse...what do you preciesly mean by reverse??? Do u just mean add it in structure....so 1st audio + dummy (with the same channels and bitrate) + 3rd audio!!! Thnx already for helping me out!!! I really would like to get this so that if i ever come accross another one like this i will be able to solve it :)

ok, if i read your older posts right, you have two m2v files on the timeline, the movie, followed by the trailer.
when using the create sync audio track:
- for the first audio track (English), use the english for the movie, and a 'dummy' for the trailer (*)
- for the 2nd audio track (French), use the french for the movie, and a 'dummy' for the trailer
- for the 3rd audio track (Trailer), use the dummy for the movie, and the trailer audio for the trailer.
(*) if (however) the english and trailer tracks are the same bitrate/channels, then use them both on the first line (english for movie, trailer for trailer).
then when you create your two playlists, make sure you right click properties on the playlist, http://www9.brinkster.com/sportschook/?playlistprop.jpg , and i think you should disable all but the audio track the trailer wants (either 1 or 3 depending on which you picked above). you still *may* have to setup stream preselection (under the menu button for it), but im not sure.
now, you may be wondering why i make you use the dummy file for the first two tracks (even tho when you drop the audio file in, it lines up):
when playing back a mpeg program stream, or a dvd, using DirectShow codecs, and there is no audio stream (or an undecodable stream ie DTS), then the video will playback as fast as the computer will allow, cause DirectShow relys on the audio stream to pick the speed.

ahhh now i see....however i have one m2v file the trailer is included in the main m2v file .....however the audio for it is apart!!.....but i guess the whole concept of the tracks does not change ...whether its one m2v or two....thnx again for the great explanation!!!
